Jane D. Hill, a lead consultant for McREL, has worked in the areas of second language acquisition and special education for 28 years. She now consults and trains nationally with teachers and administrators. Before joining McREL, Jane worked as a speech/language specialist for 13 years, specializing in bilingual special education; directed a two-way language school for three years; and served as Director for Second Language Acquisition and Special Education for seven years at the district level. She earned her B. A. in theartre arts/speech from Simpson College in Indianola, Iowa and a M.S. in communication disorders from Colorado State University in Fort Collins. Jane has written for Language Magazine and co-authored Classroom Instruction That Works with English Language Learners (ASCD, 2006).
