Robert Fulton, PhD

In Dr. Fulton’s service to the P-20 education community for the past 20 years, he has been a committed advocate for adult learners and the institutional structures that support them. Currently, he serves the Jones International University students, staff and faculty as the Dean of the School of Education.

Dr. Fulton also serves as a Peer Consultant-Evaluator for the Higher Learning Commission; Board Director for the Colorado Head Start Association; member of the Colorado Governor’s P-20 Council Committee on Teacher Preparation; and member of the Colorado Council of Deans of Education. He has served as a Board Director for the Auraria Library Foundation and Community College of Denver Foundation.

He received the 2002 Student Access and Success Award from the Community College of Denver and the 2006 and 2007 Jones International University Innovation Awards for leading the creation of the Colorado State Board of Education and Higher Learning Commission approved MEd and EdD degree programs in K-12 teacher and principal preparation. He has been honored as a 2002, 2003 and 2004 National Institute for Staff and Organizational Development Master Presenter, was recognized by the 2002 and 2005 Who's Who among America's Teachers and authored an award-winning U.S. Department of Education Title V-Hispanic Serving Institutions grant.

Dr. Fulton earned his PhD from the Community College Leadership Program at the University of Texas where he was a W. K. Kellogg doctoral fellow. He was awarded honorary membership into Phi Kappa Phi in 2000.
