Sammye Wheeler Clouse, Ph.D.

Dr. Sammye Wheeler-Clouse is a principal consultant for McREL. As an established school and district leader, she is an expert in classroom instruction, school leadership, curriculum, assessment, and school improvement. She has 27 years in education, working directly with students, teachers, and school leaders on improving student achievement through research-based best practices.

Whether it is in the classroom, at the district office, or training others, Sammye is recognized as a passionate educator who believes in the opportunity for all students to learn. She also believes the teacher and principal have the most influence on student achievement, and data-based instruction is a key to improvement. She is committed to supporting clients to realize their goals for increasing student achievement.

Sammye has a Ph.D. in education leadership and innovation from the University of Colorado in Denver, a master’s degree in curriculum and instruction from the University of Colorado in Denver, and a B.A. in speech communication from the University of Illinois.
