Jane Kirven is not who you would typically expect to find in JIU's M.B.A. in Entrepreneurship program. Jane is a high school teacher in Charlotte, N.C. Although she loves her job and cherishes her role in influencing children's lives, Jane has aspirations that go beyond the classroom walls. She would like to own her own business someday. "Entrepreneurship has been my dream," Jane says.

Jane chose JIU after researching online degree programs and talking with former students. After speaking with Kim DeCoste, her enrollment counselor, Jane said, "I felt it right away. I knew JIU was the right choice for me. I chose it because of the curriculum, the accessibility, the fast pace, and because it's accredited."

"With JIU I have been able to invest not only in my education, but also in myself. It has been a challenging, rewarding, and stretching experience that I will carry with me as I continue to pursue my dreams."

After her May 2004 graduation, Jane plans to launch an organizational consultation business.
