Dear JIU Students,

We spent the latter half of 2005 planning ways for JIU to exceed your expectations in 2006. This is the essence of the JIU Gold Standard: to not only keep, but to exceed our promises to you. From newly updated courses to outstanding faculty and chairs, leading-edge technology, and expanded professional services, our goal is to implement continuous innovation targeted to help you achieve your dreams.

In this issue of the JIU Insider, we’re bringing you professional development tips, career trends, and an inspiring alumnus profile. Future 2006 issues have been planned to include more student and faculty profiles, exciting educational developments, and any JIU news we think will be of interest to you. In fact, you will be receiving an email from me in the next few weeks asking you to let me know any additional topics or areas you would like to see your student newspaper address. We look forward to your suggestions and comments.

A valuable source of JIU student feedback on an ongoing basis is our end-of-course survey. While we can’t promise to act on each request, we do take each of your suggestions seriously. To make it even easier for you to make your opinions known, we’re adding a feedback form to myJIU that you can fill out any time to tell us what we should stop, what we should start, and what we should keep doing, all in the interests of enhancing your learning experience at JIU and, of course, promoting your success.
