Graduation Ceremony June 9!
Just a reminder—this year’s commencement ceremonies will take place Friday, June 9, beginning at 11:00 a.m. ET. Graduation will be accessible to all visitors to JIU’s website, so please feel free to invite colleagues, friends and family. Just point them to http://graduation.jiu.edu. The webcast will be archived and can be viewed at any time after the morning of June 9.
We are honored to have joining us as our commencement speaker Dr. Milton Goldberg. Dr. Goldberg has been a tireless torchbearer for education reform in the United States. As the executive director of the National Commission on Excellence in Education, Dr. Goldberg was instrumental in the creation of the 1983 landmark report, "A Nation at Risk," generally regarded as the impetus behind U.S. education reform, including the No Child Left Behind Act.
2006 Faculty Excellence AwardsThe Jones International University Faculty Excellence Awards are presented each year to teaching faculty members who have demonstrated an exceptional commitment to their students’ success; teachers who consistently put students first, creating a climate in which they thrive.
JIU has exceptional teaching faculty, so the choice of this year’s recipients took the thorough evaluation and assessment of the JIU faculty awards committee. It was with data gathered from our students, Deans, Academic Chairs, and others that each faculty member was selected.
