As organizers, managers build an organizational structure for their group that enables employees to effectively perform their jobs and work with other units in the organization. As controllers, managers develop control systems to ensure that actual outcomes achieve stated objectives. As leaders, managers influence and motivate individuals and teams to perform effectively over the long-term. And as innovators, they lead ongoing change in organizations, working to ensure that the organization is continually learning and changing with the demands of its environment.
