EDD 900: Successful Online Learning, EdD Program

Overview

In this Colloquium course you will begin your journey into your doctoral program. You will be exploring the challenges and opportunities of learning online, what’s expected of you, what you should expect from the JIU faculty, the structure of a typical JIU EdD course, and the tools available to you.

Learning Outcomes

Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:

• Use new technology tools for communication and collaboration with your cohort and instructors.
• Describe what to expect in JIU EdD courses, teaching faculty, and the university.
• Describe what JIU expects of you as an EdD student.
• Demonstrate understanding of the skills required for success at JIU and know how to find out more about them.
• Describe the resources available to JIU students and how to access them.
• Describe your purpose, goals, and motivation as a doctoral student at JIU.
